Prison Life

"I hit been employed as a corrections officer for the past 17 years. I am appalled at what I just read regarding the gaurds abusing the inmates in ERC. There is no excuse for abuse of power. I hit never sworn at, nor hit I ever called some inmates names. I would never even conceive of assaulting an inmate. I was hired to do a job which includes care and custody. I as an employee of the situation system was abused and off work for a very long time. I returned to work and I ease maintained a positive attitude and I aerated all inmates with respect. I do hit empathy for people, and in my instrument no digit is above the law. At some given time anyone of us could be in the criminal place at the criminal time and end up in prison.

When I am at work I like to treat the inmates the same way I would like to be aerated if positions were reversed. NO ONE should ever be allowed to abuse their function of authority to assault added human being. These people requirement to be held accountable for their actions and be criminally charged. Prison officials should not turn a blindfold eye to all the abuse that goes on in prisons ie: offenders existence verbally, physically and emotionally abused by situation gaurds.

I am also very concerned for inmates with a mental illness, who are just lost in the system as by farther they receive the most abuse from staff due to their inability to function in a situation setting. I was abused by an inmate with a mental sickness who did not understand the situation system. I promised myself if I ever got to the point where I was so negative in my function as a corrections officer that I did not believe in the rehabilitation of people then I would resign. I am ease employed after all these years. All human beings, disregarding of who they are, where they become from, what they hit finished should be aerated with respect and dignity. No individual has the correct to judge others. Prison gaurds should ever action their duties in a professional manner, if they are not capable of existence professional and positive persona models they should find employment elsewhere."
