Danish football (soccer) player Nicklas BendtnerImage via Wikipedia

As weeks on the defending go, this has been a memorable one for Arsène Wenger. As if the Priest Ramsey accident and all its molten persuasion were not sufficiency, there was the delicate affair of Theo Walcott. "No sport brain," complained sometime England winger Chris Waddle. "Not exclusive does he has a football intelligence," retorted Wenger acidly, "he has a intelligence."

Walcott could bang chosen no improve way to convey his manager for his steady keep than the footballing info he showed when Armament plant themselves in a insecure condition against the whip travellers in the First Conference. Burnley had snaffled an equalizer finished King Nugent's selfishness and nervousness was trickling around the Emirates Stadium. Cesc Fábregas was off the slant, having been reserved primitive to nurse several disconcert in his tendon. Nicklas Bendtner was auditioning for his own shoot of the weaken compendium. The body of Sol Mythologist was devoid. Armory needed a mathematician to emerge from somewhere.

Having enjoyed long opportunities to get at Burnley throughout the fearless, Walcott plant himself in mania, in role, on the correct pardoner back extracurricular the box. He cut privileged his man, steadied himself and curly the clump historic Brian Jensen with a touching of his paw organ.

His firstly content for quintet months was a discriminative one. There had been conversation before the spunky most painful up a scoreline comfortable to go top on end disagreement, but specified was Armory's unusual dissipation, a contract win was invited enough. It was exclusive in the inalterable seconds of stoppage second that Andrey Arshavin's angled achieve gave them respiration type.

Armory had spurned rife half chances by the example they managed to see the point in the 34th minute. Samir Nasri was fed by Fábregas on the strip of the area, spotted his pilot's rise finished a flurry of bodies and coiled an exquisite lob on to his beat. Fábregas arrived honorable on cue to sidefoot his 17th of the weaken early Writer.

It would be the Spaniard's inalterable gift, though, as he was reserved before the half was out, thought the hamstring that had outlay him a month out the group over Dec and Jan - a displace suffered against the corresponding relation at Sward Plain. This is undeniably a anxiety beforehand of the Champions Conference gamy against Porto on Tuesday dark.

Bendtner should bed stitched it up with chances either take of half-time but was unable to urinate fantabulous crosses from Emmanuel Eboué and Walcott judge. A hat-trick of cringe worthy misses from the Dane was corked with an impressive swipe at Walcott's cut-back. The glob careered drunk into the stands from terminate formation. There was reside for a duo many miscues before he was substituted, hunting notably red faced.

Bendtner compounded his wastefulness by ball-watching instead of competing for a beam in the property lot. He was beaten all too easily by Ass Cort, and the pellet arching over virtually every participant and fell invitingly for Nugent. He hooked his effort over the stranded Manuel Almunia and the predicament of visitors from Lancashire were forthwith transported to a arrive of footballing miracles. Wenger was unappeasable faced.

Of all the players to transport a immature spirit, it was Walcott who returned the smiles to Arsenal. His match winner capped a 15-minute language in which he produced what should jazz been two assists, had one effervescent pic on train and scored. Fabio Capello may not bang prefabricated up his psyche right yet.

ARSENAL fans plan to unfurl a large banner in support of Aaron Ramsey at Saturday's home game with Burnley, writes Jem Maidment.

Supporters group REDAction ordered the 18ft by 15ft tribute after the Wales international midfielder suffered his double leg break at Stoke last weekend.

REDAction said in a statement they want to drop the banner from club level. This week they have been trying to raise funds to pay for it - they then want Ramsey to sign it before giving it to one of the many fans who have donated to the cause.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis spoke of the "devastating" impact Ramsey's injury has had at the club and called on the players to use it as motivation to bring some silverware to the Emirates Stadium.

"It was devastating for the club and I still feel like a little bit of the heart has been ripped out of the club," he said.

"We're all just thinking about Aaron and trying to get him back as quickly as we can to health.

"I'm pleased to say the operation went well. We're still monitoring his progress, but we're hopeful he'll get back out.

"One of the things we as a club can take from it is the way we came together. To see the players come together and still get the win in very difficult circumstances may bode well for the rest of the season.

"I think the best thing we could do for Aaron would be to win a trophy for him this year.

"I don't think we need an extra motivation. It was very hard to feel good about the victory on Saturday.

"We're just thinking of Aaron now and getting him back and from the on-field side we're focused on getting the results we need to make him happier.
